The University of Warwick is committed to assessing the design, procurement and construction processes to achieve the optimum low embodied carbon result, consistent with Life Cycle expectations.

The Sports Hub primarily comprises outdoor artificial sports pitches and a new indoor sports and leisure building (including sports hall, flexible pool space, climbing wall and other facilities).

Sturgis Carbon Profiling were appointed by the University of Warwick to complete an Embodied and Whole Life Carbon study and related carbon reduction strategies of the new buildings.

SCP’s LCA tool was used to complete the carbon assessment in accordance with the BS EN 15978 standard. The tool and database have been previously approved by BRE as IMPACT equivalent and have contributed to the achievement of 2 exemplary credits under Mat 01 issue of BREEAM UK New Construction 2014 scheme.
