Grade 2 listed building retrofit in the heart of London, opposite Selfridges on Oxford Street.
The ‘Improved Industrial Dwellings Company’ built the Clarendon Flats in 1872 to house working class families that have remained as housing for fair rent tenants until recently. Sturgis Carbon Profiling has delivered to 32 flats in this historically important building significant thermal improvements as part of an overall retrofit programme.

SCP was engaged both as architect and sustainability consultant, thoroughly monitoring the project on site through to completion.
Thermal improvements made to Flat 12 achieved a nearly 100% reduction in CO2 emissions, from 41.80 KgCO2/m2yr to 0.004 KgCO2/m2yr. This was made achievable through thermal retrofit improvements and harnessing electricity generated by photovoltaic panels.
